Inverness's annual free Hogmanay party - "the largest free Hogmanay party in Scotland" - is a family-friendly fling featuring several different bands, fireworks at midnight by Fireworx Scotland, and food and drink.

10,000 Highlanders and visitors from all around the world gather to party their way into 2017. Hosted by comedian Craig Hill each year, this year's show features three bands: The Elephant Sessions, Scooty and The Skyhooks, and folk-rock band Skerryvore (who also played the event last year and in 2011/12 - see video above).

The party ends at half past midnight, but continues at clubs, pubs and hotels in Inverness.

Organisers advice: Children are welcome. Hot Food and Bar available on site. Do not bring alcohol on to the site or "arrive having overdone the cocktails". This is an outdoor standing concert. There is a car park for spectators with mobility needs at the front of the Highland Council HQ and a viewing platform for wheelchair users.
